About the Artist!

My name is Julie Cates and my sister, Robin, and I own a paint-your-own-pottery studio called On the Pot in Salina, KS. My passion is creating fun, funky, and functional pieces. I work with low fire ceramic bisque and lead free glazes. Each piece is hand painted, glazed and fired in our studio. No two pieces of pottery are exactly the same and I LOVE that! I've been painting ceramics (and everything else I can convince people to let me paint) for 6 years now and just keep loving it more and more! I hope you enjoy my work as much and I enjoy creating it!
